Days 6, 7, & 8

Day 6: When was the last time you tried something new? What was it and what was the result? Have you ever done something just so you can blog about it? I tried something new this morning. The hubby and I decided Cookie needed a bath, so we loaded her up and took her up to the "Pet Wash" here in town. Basically it's like a car wash, but for pets. You go in the door and there's a big stainless steel tub with a ramp and a door to it. On the wall there's your "options" switch and the money slot, just like they have in a car wash. It's got a hose similar to what you would see in the sink of a school cafeteria. We bathed her (smells much better!) and attempted to blow dry her; that lasted all of about 2 seconds before she freaked the hell out. We got her out of the tub and let her run around and shake off to dry (we didn't think about taking a towel with us). I was disinfecting the tub and hubby said "lets get out of here." I turned around and was like ok...and then, I saw it. When neither of us were looking Cookie left her "opinion" on the floor. The place didn't have a garbage can, kleenex, paper towels, bags, nothing and we don't carry that stuff with us either. So, as much as I hate to admit it, we left it. Oops. Apparently, Cookie's thoughts about the place differed from ours. We do have a clean, nice smelling, soft, fluffy dog now though :)

Day 7: What's your favorite thing to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Do you read food blogs or would you ever consider writing one?
I love food. My most favorite thing for breakfast is hashbrowns with cheese and an omelet from the hospital cafeteria where I used to work. They made everything to order and was most delicious!
Lunch: Curly fries from Arby's. I could eat those every day for lunch and be perfectly content.
Supper (it's not dinner!): Lately, my favorite supper food is anything off the grill. The hubby is an amazing grill cook and the stuff just tastes SO good. Last night we had grilled steak and the night before was Iowa Chops (thick cut pork chops for all you non-Iowans). That stuff is good paired with anything, garlic dill new potatoes, green beans, corn, peas...basically anything from the garden.
I read food blogs from time to time, especially Pioneer Woman. LOVE her. I might consider writing one...

Day 8: If you had to teach something, what would you teach? (If you DO teach, when did you discover your love for teaching/the subject? Do you think blogs can play a role in education?
I teach my patients stuff every day. Weather it's the importance of taking their medication, what a medication is for, why colon prep is so important before a colonoscopy, or wound care or anything in between. I never ever thought I'd be a teacher, but here I am, teaching my patients how to care for themselves and I LOVE it. I didn't have any idea that I would be doing so much teaching in nursing and was actually pretty surprised. I think blogs can play a huge role in education, I've learned so much just from reading the blogs I do. It doesn't matter the subject either, it can be just from reading someone's day-to-day life or it can be an education blog or food blog or whatever. I don't know how many times I've said to my husband "I read on x-blog that you can mix juice with vodka and have an excellent drink." (or whatever the subject may be.)
