Summer Camp Day 2:s

Day 2 -What were you like in high school? What extracurricular activities, if any, did you take part in during high school? Did you consider yourself a writer?

I don't really remember what I was like. I know it was a rather screwed-up time in my life, my dad was having heart problems and my mom had been diagnosed with kidney disease and eventually went on dialysis and then had a transplant. I think most of my actions then were based on me trying to avoid dealing with that stuff. The "good me" had 2 jobs my junior and senior years. I worked at a nursing home and a boarding kennel. I played the cello in the school orchestra, took piano lessons, cleaned my piano teacher's house once a week in exchange for a discount on lessons, showed rabbits in FFA. I never really belonged to any one group/clique. I just kind of did my own thing and if people wanted to be my friend or talk to me, that was fine too. There was also a "bad me" and well, I don't feel like going there right now. I'm not proud of that part of me. And, really? I'd love to go back in time and kick my own ass.

I didn't consider myself a writer then. I knew I favored writing over, lets say math, but that's about as far as it went. I enjoyed writing letters and doing writing assignments for classes. I never thought of writing as a career or anything like that.
